University of Newcastle and Commonwealth Government Scholarships Australia Scholarship Details:

The University of Newcastle is an Australian public university that has announced the University of Newcastle and Commonwealth Government Scholarships in Australia in collaboration with Commonwealth Government for the Masters and Ph.D. students.

The scholarship program aims to enable the academically able candidates to study on scholarship from worldwide. Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for the scholarship program. The number of scholarships available is subjected to the Research and Innovation Division budget.

Scholarship Benefits:

The University of Newcastle, Australia or Commonwealth Government funds the scholarship program. The scholarship program provides the following benefits to the scholarship holders:

1. A fully paid tuition fee scholarship
2. An annual living allowance $27,082 per annum (2018 rate – indexed annually)
3. A relocation allowance up to $1500/-
4. A laptop for the purpose of research studies
5. Single cover of Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the international candidates

Scholarship Location: The entire scholarship program will be in University of Newcastle, Australia.

Scholarship Duration: Following will be the scholarship duration as per the degree program was undertaken by the candidate:

1. Ph.D. Scholarship: 3.5 Years
2. Masters Scholarship: 2 Years

Eligible Countries: All international students are eligible to apply for this scholarship program.

Educational Qualification Required: The candidates must have completed a 4 years undergraduate degree and attained 1^st class or equivalent high-class GPA.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. The candidates are required to enter a Pre-Identified Candidate Code that will be provided to you by your potential University of Newcastle (UON) supervisor in the online application.
2. The candidates are required to satisfy the English proficiency requirement, i.e. IELTS of at least 6.5 or 7.0 in some disciplines.
3. The candidates must necessarily meet the admission eligibility criteria.
4. The candidates must not be more than 2 full-time equivalent years into their Ph.D. or 1 year for Masters at the scholarship closing date in which ever applying.
5. The successful international scholarship candidates usually also have the following:

• A Masters academic degree with the strong research component
• International peer-reviewed research publication or research experience.
